About Me

The Quick Bits

I graduated Fairleigh Dickinson University with a B.A. in Creative Writing. I now work as a production specialist at marketing company in Northern Virginia, where I mainly traffic production creative and Get Things Done. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, working on my novel and exploring new places.

The Full Story

With a father in the Air Force, I lived in four different states for the first four years of my life. I guess I wanted to get those travel miles in early! Born in Ohio, I lived there for only a year before I realized—no one wants to live in Ohio. (Just kidding, Ohio.) Then it was Texas, then Pennsylvania, and finally New Jersey, where I spent the rest of my formative years.

I've been obsessed with storytelling since the age of nine, although my tendency to daydream dates back even further than that. I blame my parents for giving me books to read and making me watch Star Wars. I also just so happened to be born in time for the Disney renaissance, so fairy tales consumed my childhood. "Far off places, daring sword fights, magic spells, a prince in disguise!" Belle, you couldn't have sold it better.

As a teen, I took up the sword myself and started fencing. In college, I flew across the pond to explore those far off places—namely England and Germany. You better believe I rushed over to Neuschwannstein Castle in the Alps, the castle that inspired Sleeping Beauty's castle in Disneyland. To this day, that castle is my favorite place in the world. In fact, the Marienbrücke just up the hill inspired the bridge in my novel, Linden. Alas, I found no prince in disguise, though I did meet my boyfriend while studying abroad, so I'll still say that counts!

After college, I worked at a blogging company for a year, before taking a job in Northern Virginia. I'd fallen in love with the state in high school, when my family went to Virginia Beach and I discovered what trees were while driving through the state... (Just kidding, New Jersey has a tree or two.) My boyfriend also has a love for international relations and politics, so it just made sense.

Down in Virginia, I started as a proofer, dabbled a little bit in content creation, and now currently work at keeping the production department organized and running on time. We work with a variety of deliverables, from print to web to television. I love the fast pace and working with so many talented, creative people.

My true passion, of course, has always been writing, and so that brings me to today. I am currently querying for my first novel, and it should come as no surprise at this point that it is a fairy-tale inspired fantasy story. Read more about Linden.

Hobbies & Interests

When I'm not working or writing, I'm probably reading, hiking, playing Pokemon Go, or travelling. Okay, I'll admit, my TV has a magic enchantment that sometimes glues me to the couch (Orange is the New Black, Game of Thrones, Mad Men, Homeland, American Ninja Warrior, to name a few of the "spells" it likes to cast).

You can see what I'm currently reading on my Goodreads app to the right, but if you want to know my main loves: Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, probably anything by Gregory Maguire, and Ender's Game.
